Aadhira Charitable Trust (Surapet, Ambattur) is organising its Community Evening Learning Initiative, a grassroots education program aimed at strengthening learning outcomes for underprivileged students across rural communities in and around Chennai. The initiative focuses on providing structured academic support beyond school hours, ensuring that students from government schools receive consistent guidance and mentorship in a supportive environment. Conducted across six villages-Aarambakkam, Nochikuppam, Mouthambedu, Kannabakkam, Padirivedu, and Pulicat-the program has already benefited over 70 students.
In collaboration with trained educators from Anna Adharsh Teacher Training Institute, the sessions cover key subjects including Tamil, English, Mathematics, Drawing, and Hygiene awareness. The program is designed not only to improve academic performance but also to nurture creativity, confidence, and overall well-being among children. Through small-group learning in accessible community spaces, the initiative creates an engaging and inclusive atmosphere where students can learn, interact, and grow. The focus on foundational skills and emotional support has helped children build a positive attitude toward education and stay motivated in their academic journey.
