In connection with International Water day, Korattur Aeri\u00a0 Paadhugaappu Makkal Iyakkam had Organised for a Run for Water Marathon at Korattur Lake, Chennai.
The chief guest, Former Judge\u00a0 of Madras High court\u00a0 and former judicial member of the National Green Tribunal Justice\u00a0 Dr.P.Jyothimani flagged\u00a0 off the Run for Water Marathon Rally. He distributed appreciation cerificates to the Save Korattur Lake activist, School and College students and to the General Public who had\u00a0 participated in the marathon.\u00a0 Justice Jyothimani was the first judicial member to issue an injunction against sewage being let out of Korattur Lake\u00a0in 2016.
After flagging off the marathon-Neerottam(way of water), Justice\u00a0 Jothimani also\u00a0 visited the spot where\u00a0 untreated sewage is still being let into the lake by civic body\u00a0 authorities. The lake which was originally more than 900 acres, is now only 400 acres due to encroachment.\u00a0\u00a0
