One day workshop for Eco Club Teachers

Chennai District National Green Corps (NGC) in association with Chennai Rivers Restoration Trust (CRRT) organised a one day workshop for eco club Teachers recently at Tholkappiya Poonga, Raja Annamalai Puram.
Thangaraj (Chennai district coordinator, NGC) explained the role and responsibilities of Teacher Coordinators in maintaining the greenery in schools and nearby places and recalled the activities conducted by NGC for the past 20 years.
Dr.S.R.Ramanan (Former director,India meteorological department) in his special address demonstrated the recent cyclones, abnormal heavy rains and the weather report. He requested the teachers to encourage the students to think on their own and identify their extraordinary skills to improve further.
Gomathy (Interpretation executive), Dr. Muthukumar (Program officer, ENVIS) and Dr.Srinivasan (Health education officer, Greater Chennai Corporation) briefed Rivers restoration in Chennai, Climate change and ill effects of plastics respectively.
