Alpha Fest’20

Alpha Arts and Science College (Porur) celebrated Alpha Fest’20 on Feb.24 in its premises.The Inaugural Ceremony began at 8:30 a.m. in the College premises. Pastor Felix Prakash and Dr. Edith Prakash, Prakash Ministries were the Chief Guests. Principal Dr. D. Ashalatha and Vice Principal Dr.Sripriya presided over the occasion.
The programme began with a Bible Reading. Mercy Amal Raj introduced the Chief Guests. Addressing the student community, Dr. Edith Prakash delivered an inspirational message to students that motivated them to focus on God to receive all the blessings they wish to possess in life. In her speech, that included several motivational quotes and verses from scripture, Dr. Edith encouraged students to believe that God has a plan for each of them, ask God to guide them in his plan for their life (Pslam 32:8) and not imitate anyone or follow their path in life. With much expectation the audience awaited the start of the cultural events.
The On-Stage events on Feb 22 included a plethora of events like Blood and Thunder (Street Play), I’ve got the Rhythm (Solo Dance) Dance – Versity (Group Dance) Acoustics (Instrumental Unplugged) and Tap your feet (Solo Singing). Charged with a competitive spirit, participants from each house – Shelly, Shaw, Shakespeare and Spencer, vied with each other to win the first place and secure the winner’s Trophy.
The Alpha Fest Off-Stage events from 19 to 21 February 2020 that preceded the on Stage events a fortnight earlier included a host of competitions as well, like Food without fire, Hand Art, Shutter up (Photography), Mehandi, Pencil Sketching, 3.0 (miniature), Rangoli, Fruits and Vegetable Carving and Assemblage (Collage).
The Valedictory in the evening witnessed loud rounds of applause as students cheered prize winners of each competition. All through the day, with bated breath, house captains, contestants and members had watched their scores rise or fall, hoping to win by doing their best. Shelly House won the Alpha Fest’20 championship and the runners up were Shakespeare House.
Principal Dr. D. Ashalatha and Vice Principal Dr. Sripriya presented the prizes to winners.
